Yo-Yo Ma and Kurt Masur conducting the NY Phil in a performance of Dvorak's Cello Concerto in B minor, Op. 104. I've heard Ma's recording with Colin Davis and one other, but this is the best performance, bar none, ever, even outshining Rostropovich.

 | Yo-Yo Ma, Elgar Cello Concerto, 1st mvmt
Yo-Yo Ma plays Elgar's Cello Concerto with Barenboim cond. the Chicago Symphony. A stellar performance. There are definitely echoes of DuPre watching Barenboim. DuPre will always be the "reference" recording but Yo-Yo's interpretation is outstanding, with a bit more gravitas and uninhibited emotion.
